Soybean remains the most imported commodity in Pakistan this year, with a significant volume still expected to arrive before the year-end. Currently, 13 vessels, carrying a combined total of approximately 770,000 MT of soybeans, are scheduled for delivery. Out of these, more than 8 vessels, accounting for roughly 460,000 MT, are expected to arrive before the end of 2025.
The first of these upcoming shipments, the vessel African Pheasant, is scheduled to arrive on 29th October, carrying 55,000 MT of soybeans. Following this, seven more vessels are expected to reach Pakistan in November. However, not all will be berthed immediately only four vessels are likely to dock during November, while the remaining three will be berthing in December.
This substantial inflow of soybeans is anticipated to increase domestic supply significantly, potentially increasing the supply of soybean oil and soybean meal local market prices. Additionally, the upcoming numbers of soybean vessels are expected to put significant pressure on the ports, as they coincide with other major commodity imports.
