Punjab sugar mills have crushed 26,739,948 metric tons of sugarcane as of 25 January 2026, producing 2,514,748 metric tons of sugar in the current crushing season. This marks an increase from the same period in 2025, when mills crushed 24,922,760 metric tons of sugarcane to produce 2,234,997 metric tons of sugar. The overall sugar recovery rate for the 2026 season stands at 9.64%, up from 9.15% last year.
Including last year’s stock of 112,116 metric tons, Punjab’s total sugar stock now reaches 2,626,864 metric tons. Out of this, mills have already sold 1,078,129 metric tons, leaving a current balance of 1,548,734 metric tons. The seasonal sugar sales ratio has also increased from 37.70% in 2025 to 41.04% in 2026, reflecting stronger market activity.
Division-wise Performance:
- Bahawalpur Division leads with 9,078,827 metric tons of sugarcane crushed, producing 875,447 metric tons of sugar.
- Faisalabad Division follows with 686,390 metric tons of sugar produced.
- DG Khan Division recorded 440,605 metric tons of sugar production.
